The news has Emerged of one of Nigeria’s elderstatesman, Chief Alex Opeyemi Akinyele, aged 81 or 82.

It was reported that several Nigerian dailies that he passed on Thurday night  November 1

Hs son Constantine Akinfolarin Akinyele, comfirmed  his father’s death in a statement.

The former minister  began his primary education at All Saints School, Ondo and completed secondary studies at Gboluji Grammar School.

  He graduated from the University of Ife now Obafemi Awolowo University.

During his life time, Akinyele worked in several public and private sectors.

In 1995,  Nigerians late military leader, Sani Abacha appointed Akinyele as head of a National Reconciliation Committee with the objective of opening dialogue with interest groups in the country to support the democratic transition program of the government.

Chief Alex Akinyele had a liking for foreign women.
