The re-run elections for Kogi west senatorial seat election held on Saturday 30 November, results have been declared by The Independence National Election Commission (INEC).

Senator Smart Adeyemi of the All Progressives Congress defeated Senator Dino Melaye of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as the senator who will represent Kogi West at the Senate.

The result of the polls was declared Saturday night in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital.

Then result as announced by the  returning Officer of the election, Professor Olajide Lawal, says Smart Adeyemi, of the APC polled a total of  88,373 votes to defeat his closest rival Senator Dino Melaye of the  (PDP) who got 62,133 votes.
