Nigerian International Osaze Odemwingie has announced his resignation from active football,he made this known while appearing at the UEFA’s Equal Game conference at Wembley on Wednesday night, April 3.
Odemwingie, who hails from Edo State South South Nigeria last played his professional football for Indonesian side Madura United in 2017,he explained that he intends to embark on a coaching career.
Osaze Odemwingie was born in Russia, but was brought to Nigeria by his parents before he started his professional football career at Bendel Insurance of Benin.
“It’s an emotional day, so many memories go through your head. I didn’t know how to do it or where to do it, but I think this is the right place to do it.
“Wembley is a place with a lot of history in football.”
“The next chapter is slowly building up to a coaching career and hopefully I will be coaching in the Premier League one day,” he said
Osaze Odemwingie played in the Premier League between 2010 and 2016 with 129 games and scored 36 goals while playing for West Brom and Stoke City.
