“Two Tickets to Paradise,”Singer Eddie Money Bows Out Aged 70

The death has occured of Rock legend Eddie Money, known for chart-topping hits like “Baby Hold On,” “Two Tickets to Paradise,” “Shakin’”. he was aged 70.

Prior to his death, the legendary singer revealed that was battling stage 4 esophageal cancer,

A statement from the family says  “the Money Family regrets to announce that Eddie passed away peacefully early this morning. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our loving husband and father. We cannot imagine our world without him. We are grateful that he will live on forever through his music”.

Eulogising the late singer, Jim Farber, veteran New York City-based music critic said “He had a unique texture to his voice. His songs had a bit of soul to them, and R&B that gave him a wide reach,”,  “There was this kind of everyman quality to him.”

Born Edward Joseph Mahoney,  known professionally as Eddie Money was an American singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who had huge success in the 1970s and 1980s doing what he knows best to do.

He is survived by his wife of over thirty years Laurie and five children.
