11-year old detained by Police in the wake of the ENDSARS protest in Benin enrolled into school


11-year-old Gift Osayuwu who was arrested in the wake of the #ENDSARS protest that was abused by hoodlums in Benin for his alleged involvement in the attack on a Police station has been enrolled in a private school. Read here.

The Coordinator of the human rights group, Talakwa Parliament, Kola Edokpayi, Confirmed the development on Monday, November 2,  according to him the boy was enrolled into JSS 1 in one of the ”best private schools” in Benin City, today.

His mother a petty trader accompanied him to school.

The youngster was released by Police On October 30  after his alleged involvement with hoodlums to attack a Police Station at the Evotubu area.  After the attack, he was said to have worn the uniform of a police sergeant and declared himself as the Inspector General of Police (IGP)

Already, donations into his Education Trust Fund have continued to pour in from kind-hearted people.
