16-year old environmental activist Greta Thumberg named Time’s 2019 Person of the Year

16-year old activist Greta Thumberg has been named the Times 2019 per year.

The climate activist was chosen and announced by the Magazine on Wednesday 11 2019.

Her role as an activist for climate change and environmental activism inspired the school strikes for the climate movement.

The 16- year old swedish teen’s campaign for climate change and the environmental issues  has drawn large crowds with her in attendance, in conferences and protests.

Diagnosed with asperger’s symdrome as a child necessitated lifestyle adjustment for her which includes not  eating meat and traveling via airplanes just to reduce her carbon footprint.

Time editor-in-chief Edward Felsenthal told “TODAY.” “She became the biggest voice on the biggest issue facing the planet this year, coming from essentially nowhere to lead a worldwide movement,”

She is the youngest to be so honoured by the Magazine.
