A physically challenged woman cries out after her wheelchair was stolen by burglars


A physically disabled Ugandan woman was left in tears after her only source of mobility, her wheelchair was stolen by suspected burglars who invaded her home on Tuesday night, March 16.

Olivia Nakugudo 32, also lost other values to the theft,  a resident of Namunsi, Afya suburb along Kabogoza Musoke road in Mbale, was stunned when she realized her home was broken into.

“I have no legs, that wheelchair has been me legs, my children who entirely rely on me will not get food and other necessities anymore,” Nakugudo told a journalist.

 Nakugudo describes her missing wheelchair as black in color with spotted blue handles.

Nakugudo’s sister-in-law, Zaina Nawaga said due to the theft, she was unable to go to her workplace at Kyagalanyi coffee where she fends for family.

They appealed to the public to report to the nearby police station or the local news network should they find the stolen wheelchair.
