Akeredolu visits PMB, calls deputy governor Agbola to resign honorably

Following his landslide victory at the just concluded gubernatorial election held in Ondo State on October 10, Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, on Tuesday visited the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Akeredolu, seized the opportunity of the visit to present his certificate of return to the President.

He was accompanied by the state deputy governor-elect, Lucky Ayedatiwa; and APC governors of Jigawa, Lagos, Kebbi, Ekiti States.

Aketi as he is fondly called defeated his two closest rivals Eyitayo Jegede SAN of the PDP and his current deputy Agbola Ajayi of the ZLP to emerge the winner, thereby securing his second term in office.

In an interview with State House correspondent shortly after the meeting with President Buhari  Akeredolu called on his current deputy, Agboola Ajayi, to resign if he still has any honor in him.

The governor however stated that even if he refuses to resign, his days as a deputy governor are numbered as Ayedatiwa is standing by to take over.
