British Pakistani boxer Amir Khan received some backlash from fellow muslims and haters for celebrating Christmas.
The father of two who took to his Istagram to wish everyone a merry Christmas while he posted a pic of his family standing in front of a christmas tree.
This didn’t go down well with some folks who called him out for celebrating christmas as a muslim.
The boxer who obviously cared less slammed back shutting down the haters.
He captioned his post: ‘Wishing you a magical and blissful holiday! Merry Christmas.’
However, one fan clapped back: ‘so wrng amir so wrng [sic],’ as another agreed and added: ‘We Muslims celebrate Eid. Not Christmas.’
Writing to his 1.3 million followers, Khan said: ‘So shocked by all the hate I’m getting on my Twitter & Instagram for wishing everyone Merry Christmas and posting a picture with my family in Christmas outfits. ‘Just want to tell those people “I don’t give a f**k.”‘
His response delighted some well meaning persons who also responded in support of the sportsman
One said:‘This is what we seriously need! High profile speakers raising awareness. Well done.’
Another wrote: ‘A Muslim celebrating Christmas is admirable. Anyone who doesn’t like it are spreading hate and division are in the wrong country,’ one wrote while another added: ‘You are allowed to celebrate Christmas as you wish. I hope you and your family had a lovely time.’
