The Israeli Government has evacuated 274 of its citizens from Nigeria on Sunday.
The new development ties to the reality on ground in connection with the spread of the Covid19 in the country.
The evacuees traveled back to Tel Aviv via the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
The flight, operated with the Air Peace’s Boeing 777-300, left Lagos with 65 passengers and airlifted 209 others from Abuja before departing the country.
The Nigerian Government had earlier halted international flight as part of measures to put a stop to the importation of coronavirus, however emergency flights such as this are allowed to operate at MMIA and NAIA.
Israel as at Sunday recorded 3,865 cases and 81 deaths while Nigeria as at today have a total number of cases as 111 with only one death recorded.
