Covid19: Virus spread to thirty States while three states records index cases


As the Covid19 pandemic continues to spread in Nigeria, three more states have recorded their index case, they are  Bayelsa, Kebbi and Ebonyi state.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday, April 27, 2020 reported that Nigeria has 91 new cases which were confirmed in 15 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

NCDC reports says 48 of the new cases were recorded in Lagos, eight in Sokoto, six in Taraba and five cases each in Kaduna and Gombe state.

While Edo, Abuja, Ondo, Bauchi, Oyo and Rivers states recorded three cases each, Osun state recorded two while  the three states with index cases recorded one each.

The latest updates shows that the number of infected persons stands at 1,273, 234 discharged persons and 40 fatalities.

Lagos remains the State with the highest number of confirmed cases.

With this latest development, Covid19 has spread to 30 states.
