Eight injured In Suspected Package Bomb Blast In Lyon, France

A Suspected package bomb blast has occured Friday at a pedestrian Street in  Lyon, South eastern France had left scores of people at the scene injured. the local prosecutors’ office says.

According to police, the package which later exploded was stationed in front of a bakery close to the two popular streets and  contained some “screws or bolts”

AFP reporters at the scene confirmed that the area where the explosion occurred has been evacuated to forestall further explosions,

The area worse hit was the narrow strip of land between the Saone and Rhone rivers in the  city centre.

Police said there were no casualties,and about eight persons  sustained various degree of injuries and were been attended to by paramedic, although the injuries were not  life-threatening,and the victims are recuperating.

President Emmanuel Macron frowned at what he described as  an “attack” during a live Facebook interview, but was elated that  no casualties were  reported, “for the time being” and wish it remains so.

“It’s not for me to give a toll but it appears there are no casualties. There have been injuries, so obviously I’m thinking of these injured and their families,” Macron concluded.

A man in his early 30s, was seen near the scene shortly before the attack and was suspected to be behind the dastard act, police are carrying out investigations on the matter.
