The family of Barbra Tommey, the 27-year-old woman shot dead by her husband Sylvester Ofori who is the head pastor of Floodgates of Heaven International Ministries in Orlando in the United States has debunked report that their late daughter was pregnant for the choir director of the church prior to the shooting that led to her death.
Sylvester Ofori shot and killed his wife Barbra Tommey on 8 September at her workplace in Orlando, he traced her there and shot her multiple times outside the office complex.
Following her death, some reports spreading across social media suggest that the pastor killed his wife over allegation of infidelity and that she was allegedly pregnant for the choir director at the Church.
But her family has denied reports of marital infidelity stating that there is no iota of truth in the said reports adding that the late Barbra never for once cheated on her husband.
According to Elizabeth Sophia Russell, an elder sister of Tommey, she was a responsible and virtuous woman who was not living an immoral life.
In an interview with Kofi TV, Sophia Russell explained that just like marriages of today, the couple had their troubles.
Fed up with her husband, Tommey decided to leave the five-year-old marriage and had even filed for divorce about three months ago. After filing for divorce which’s case is still pending in court because Ofori has refused to sign the papers to grant the divorce, Tommey left their matrimonial home to live with her mother.
Just last week, Tommey went back to the house of Ofori to pick up some documents to be sent to the father of her elder sister’s children. Her appearance in the house caused Ofori to attack before the deceased’s brother intervened.
Not long after the altercation, he followed Tommey to her workplace and shot her seven times after she refused to give him attention.
For Russell, Ofori and her sister’s marriage broke up mainly because the pastor drifted into occultism and the deceased was not comfortable.
“My sister is not promiscuous. She is somebody who respects herself, respects her husband and fears God. She never cheated on her husband,” Russell said.
