American singer and song writer John Legend has blast critics of the 14 days sentence on actress Felicity Huffman over the role she played in attempting to bribe her way through to secure admission into an ivy league school for her daughter.

The Judge’s verdict elicted reactions from different quarters who felt the actress 14 days sentence was too short, adding that black women were given harsh sentences and more time in jail over similar cases.

The all of me hitmaker in a tweet said :“I get why everyone gets mad when rich person X gets a short sentence and poor person of color Y gets a long one. The answer isn’t for X to get more; it’s for both of them to get less (or even none!!!) We should level down not up,” John wrote on her Twitter account.

He opined that the charges brought against the desperate house wife star actress doesn’t warrant a prison sentence, and advocates for less time in prison or none at all.
