Nigeria’s foreign affairs minister Geoffery Onyeama has condemned in strong terms the unlawful demolition of a building at the Nigerian high commission in Accra, Ghana.
The minister took to social media to condemn the actions of the “outrageous criminal attacks” on the Nigerian High Commission in Ghana while calling for urgent action on the part of the Ghanaian Government.
He wrote: We strongly condemn two outrageous criminal attacks in Accra, on a residential building in our diplomatic premises by unknown persons in which a bulldozer was used to demolish the building.
We are engaging the Ghanaian Government and demand urgent action to find the perpetrators and provide adequate protection for Nigerians and their property in Ghana.
In the same vein, The Chairman Nigerians in Diaspora Commission Abike Dabiri Erewa has also condemned the attack by its perpetrators.
She wrote: The attack on the Nigerian mission in Ghana overnight is an insult to Nigeria. The Min of Foreign Affairs
has intervened appropriately as we await the next steps. Ghana must ensure the protection of Nigs in Ghana.
