Leader of the indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kalu has disclosed through IPOB spokesperson, Emma Powerful that he will be attending the funeral ceremony of his late parents which has been slated to hold in February 2020.
Emma Powerful stated that the burial will be in accordance with the Ibo tradition, he however refused to divulged the security arrangement for the funeral adding that there are persons bent on causing mayhem.
He however reiterated on the need to protect the environment, hence IPOB is on ground.
“The burial of our leader’s parents burial will be 14th of February 2020.
“We are not going to disclose our security arrangements because there are much enemies who wish to destroy or destabilize every effort made for the successful burial of these father and mother of our leader.
“IPOB is on ground and nothing will change our resolve to protect the environment.
“We are peaceful and will maintain it to last point. But nobody should try IPOB,” Emma Powerful said.
Kanu lost his mother Ugoeze Sally Kanu who died in Germany, four months later his father Eze Isreal Kanu followed suit.
