Jacob Zuma Road Renamed After A Former Nigerian Parliamentarian


Imo state Government has renamed a road in Owerri Imo state named after former South African leader Jaco Zuma.

He announced the renaming today in Owerri to mark the 9oth  birthday celebration of  Chief Mbazuluike Amaechi.

Chief Amaechi is a First Republic parliamentarian and minister.

 Ihedioha described the elderstates  man who hails from Anambra state as an icon, whose immense contribution to nation building should not go unnoticed.

“Dr Amaechi is an icon, one of the founding fathers of the nation, whose contributions to nationhood should not be overlooked.

“Amaechi remains an inspiration, who stood and defended those principles that remain valuable to nation building,” part of the statement reads.

Former Governor Rochas Okorocha named the dual carriage way after Jacob Zuma, a feat that attracted widespread condemnations and criticisms  by the citizens of the state.
