Manafort violates plea agreement
A judge ruled on Wednesday that Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort lied to the FBI and special counsel Robert Mueller multiple times.
Manafort “intentionally made multiple false statements to the FBI, the OSC and the grand jury concerning matters that were material to the investigation,” Judge Amy Berman Jackson decided.
Manafort is currently in prison for various financial crimes that are seemingly unrelated to the campaign.
Mueller is investigating whether Russia interfered with the 2016 elections and whether the foreign power colluded with the Trump campaign.
Attorneys for Manafort denied allegations that he lied in court prior to the ruling.
