After nearly seven years of marital bliss, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are preparing to end their marriage.
According to multiple sources, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, 40, is preparing to file for divorce from her rapper husband West.
“He knows that she’s done. She has had enough, and she told him that she wants some space to figure out her future,” a source tells PEOPLE, adding that West, 43, is bracing for a filing but doesn’t know when it will take place.
“He’s okay. He’s sad, but okay. He knows the inevitable will happen, and he knows that it’s coming soon,” the source adds.
Another source close to the couple revealed that “She is serious about taking the bar exam and becoming a lawyer, she is serious about her prison reform campaign,” “Meanwhile Kanye is talking about running for president and saying other crazy s***, and she’s just had enough of it.”
Additionally, TMZ reported that their marriage was in deep trouble in the second half of 2020 and that Kim was ready to end the relationship when Kanye began to struggle with his bipolar disorder.
Kim allegedly believed it would be cruel to leave him at the time, as multiple sources told the outlet that the pair have been addressing their issues in marriage counseling.
TMZ added that Kim has been going back and forth about filing for divorce and tried to save their marriage.
Other sources say “They are keeping it low-key but they are done. Kim has hired Laura Wasser and they are in settlement talks.”
Laura Wasser is a famous divorce lawyer and has handled divorce proceedings for many celebrities some of her clients include Angelina Jolie, Ryan Reynolds, Britney Spears, and Kelly Clarkson — to name a few.
Before she found global fame, Kim also married Damon Thomas from 2000 to 2004 and NBA’s Kris Humphries for 72 days.
This is Kanye’s first marriage.
The reality star has not been seen wearing her $1.3 million engagement ring in recent weeks since the divorce proceedings began.
Kim and Kanye tied the knot in a luxurious Italian wedding in May 2014.
Together, the pair share daughters North, 7, and Chicago, 2, along with sons Saint, 5, and Psalm, 1.
