The body of former Zimbabwean leader Robert Mugabe has finally arrived his home country Zimbabwe from Singapore were he died this week.
Mugabe ruled his people with an iron fist for 37 years,before he was forced out of office in 2017.
Thousands of citizens thronged the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport to catch a glimpse of their former dreaded leader, they donned T-shirts bearing Mugabe’s face or image while music blared from loudspeakers.
A convoy of 4×4 vehicles with number plates bearing the letters “RG Mugabe” and the former leader’s signature were visible on the runway.
However in spite of the pomp and glitz that characterized the arrival of his body from Singapore, the final resting place of former president of Zimbabwe has posed some sort of worry between some family members and the government.
His widow and former first lady Grace Mugabe and other family Members including Vice President Kembo Mohadi were among those accompanying the body of the former leader on the plane on arrival in Harare.
Top government functionaries including the President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa, family members of the deceased, and thousands of Zimbabweans were at the Airport Harare to receive the body.
