Legendary actor Denzel Washington honoured with Life Achievement Award

 Hollywood icon Denzel Washington has added another piece of hardware to his extensive trophy collection.


He  was honoured with the 47th AFI Life Achievement Award at Dolby Theatre on June 06, 2019 in Hollywood, California.


The iconic actor, director, and producer has been in the industry since 1975 and her contributed immersely to the growth of hollywood.

He has received two Golden Globe awards, one Tony award, and two Academy Awards.

 In 2016, he received the Cecil B.DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award at the 73rd Golden Globe Award.


Denzel Washington has portrayed  real-life figures in his movies such as South African anti-apartheid activist Steve Biko in Cry Freedom (1987), Muslim minister and human rights activist Malcolm  in Malcolm X(1992), et  al;

In his acceptance speech Washington said, “If nothing else, I am living proof of the power of God. Anything you think you see, and you think you know where it comes from, the opportunities that I have been afforded, I have been given by the grace of God.”
