Mali Crisis: Military Release Ousted Former President, Boubacar Keita

The former president of Mali  Ibrahim Boubacar Keita has been released by the  Malian military.

Keita has been in detention since August 18.

The junta, which calls itself the National Committee for the Salvation of the People (CNSP), said on Facebook it was “informing public and international opinion that former President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita has been released and is currently in his residence”.

Several international organizations, including the European Union, had called for Keita’s release.
