Senior special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on social media, Lauretta Onochie has lampooned Bishop David Oyedepo for criticizing the application of the Company and Allied Matters Acts (CAMA) in churches, following its signing into law by President Muhammadu Buhari on August 7, 2020.
Oyedepo who questioned the rationale behind subjecting churches to same laws as companies averred that such laws were borne out of government’s jealousy about the prosperity recorded by the church.
Reacting to Oyedepo’s comment Onochie told the cleric to manufacture his own country if he refuses to abide by the laws of the land.
Her tweet read;
I hope this is not true. If it is, Oyedepo will have to manufacture his own country and live by his own laws. As long as he lives and operates within the entity called Nigeria, he will live by Nigerian rules and laws. He will do as he’s told by the law.
Enough of lawlessness.
Oyedepo is very vocal when it comes to criticizing the Nigerian government like he is the one to dictate to the government, meanwhile his Churches in other parts of the world are regulated by government and there is nothing he can do about it, but here in Nigeria he promotes lawlessness.
