Mayweather to pay for George Floyd’s funeral expenses

The Family of the Late George Floyd has announced that there will be three services in different locations, including Houston, Floyd’s hometown, Charlotte, and Minneapolis to celebrate the life and times of George Floyd who was killed by a cop in Minneapolis.

Former American boxer Floyd Mayweather has reportedly offered to foot the entire bill for George Floyd’s funeral expenses in the  four cities.

The 43 year old made this known in a private conversation between himself and Hollywood Unlocked CEO Jason Lee.  Mayweather said he  was distraught after learning the minimal charge former officer Chauvin Derek received for killing George on May 25.

Mayweather added that Anzel Jennings, CEO of his TMT music label, grew up with Floyd in Houston and that Jennings reached out to the Floyd family on his behalf.

Their original conversation on the issue was in private, but  HU’s Jason Lee explained that “I felt it was important to share this because his voice has a global impact that needs to be heard, especially during these times,” he said.

A Go Fund Me Page by the deceased family has received more than 290,000 donations totaling $7,583,670, as at 1st of June.
