The Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, has on August 26 released Ismaila Mustapha aka Mompha after been detained for about two weeks following his rearrest.
Recall that Mompha was rearrested when he visited the EFCC office in Ikoyi Lagos to reclaim his property seized by the anti-graft agency during his arrest last October. The items include five wristwatches, one Apple Air pod, one iPhone 8 mobile phone, and one pair of sunglasses.
An application by his lawyer, Gboyega Oyewole (SAN) prompted Justice Mohammed Liman who on July 24 ordered the EFCC to release the items to Mompha.
His lawyer, Gboyega Oyewole (SAN), confirmed his release and stated that Mompha has also withdrawn the N5million fundamental rights suit he filed against the agency.
