River State Governor Nyesom Wike has reacted to the disqualification of governor Godwin Obaseki by the screening committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC, set by the National Working Committee NWC, of the party to screen candidates vying for the N0 1 seat in the state.
Governor Obaseki was disqualified on the ground of discrepancies in the documents he tendered during the screening.
Speaking on the issue, Wike expressed dismay over the happening and also urged Edo people to say NO to this affront on them.
He accused the National Chairman of the party Comrade Adams Oshiomohle of been behind Obaseki’s predicament.
Three Candidates including the governor were disqualified by the Ayuba led committee, while three other candidates including Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu made it to the finish line.
Reactions and counter-reactions has continued to trail this new development in Edo politics.
The primary election is slated to hold on 22 of July.
Here is governor’s Wike’s thought on the matter: Obaseki was disqualified by someone who doesn’t have a certificate, what an irony!
