OBJ takes a swipe at late Senator Buruji Kashamu

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has slammed the late Senator and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Buruji Kashamu even after his death.

In a condolence message sent by the President to the family of the late Senator, Obasanjo stated that Kashamu was able to evade justice but couldn’t evade death when it struck.

Mr. Obasanjo prayed to God to forgive the deceased Senator’s sins and grant his family and friends fortitude to bear the loss.

Mr. Kashamu, during his lifetime, was a controversial political figure who for several years was wanted by the United States government for alleged drug offenses but managed to beat repeated extradition attempts.

He died in Lagos Saturday from coronavirus complications.

“Senator Esho Jinadu (Buruji Kashmu) in his lifetime used the maneuver of law and politics to escape from facing justice on the alleged criminal offense in Nigeria and outside Nigeria,” the former president said

“But no legal, political, cultural, social or even medical maneuver could stop the cold hands of death when the Creator of all of us decides that the time is up. May Allah forgive his sin and accept his soul into Aljanah, and may God grant his family and friends fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” he wrote.
