The ongoing drama in Ondo State has degenerated as the Ondo State House of Assembly has served an impeachment notice to the state Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi.
Since the defection of the deputy governor Ajayi from the All Progressives Congress, APC to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP there are indications that he intends to run against his former boss Governor Rotimi Akeredolu as the flagbearer of the PDP In the state governorship election scheduled for October 10.
Fourteen of the twenty-six members of the house signed the impeachment notice while nine members voted against the decision.
The deputy governor is being accused of gross misconduct, abuse of office, financial recklessness, abandonment of office among other offenses.
