US president Joe Biden’s German Shephard dog has been evacuated from the white house after it inflicted injuries on a person.
According to reports the dogs have been removed from the white house and sent back to the Biden family home in Delaware.
The Pet Major who is yet to acclimatize to life in the white often exhibited aggrieve behavior towards the white house staff, barking and charging at them.
The White House confirmed the incident saying the dog was involved in an accident that left an unidentified person with a minor injury.
Just last month, Jill Biden told The Kelly Clarkson Show in a recent interview that she was focused on getting the dogs settled
“I’ve been obsessed with getting our dogs settled because we have an old dog and we have a very young dog,”
“They have to take the elevator. They’re not used to that. They have to go out on the South Lawn with lots of people watching them,” she said. “So, you know, that’s what I’ve been obsessed with, just getting everybody settled and calm.”
White House furniture is off-limits, but Major has shown his disobedient side. “I caught him on the couch the other day, but he quickly jumped down,” the first lady told Clarkson.
The dogs are allowed to run around the South Lawn, she said.
Their favorite spot is “wherever we are. Even if my door’s closed, they’re sitting right outside the door like, ‘Let me in, let me in,’” Jill Biden said
The Bidens adopted Major in 2018 from the Delaware Humane Association.
Their other dog Champ is 13 years old. He joined the family after Joe Biden was elected vice president in 2008.
The dogs moved to the White House shortly after the inauguration in January.
