Residents Incessant Complaints Prompts Police In Adamawa To Arrest Vulture And Owner


The Police in Adamawa state has arrested a vulture and it’s owner after series of complaints were lodged by residents in the area.

The Commissioner of Police in the State Adamu, Madaki, confirming the incidence said the arrest of the bird and its owner in Maiha became imperative after numerous complaints.

The complainants stated:

“the last time someone brought three vultures into Maiha, the area was, a few days later, invaded by insurgents.”

THE police Commissioner, said the the community saw the bird as an harbinger of evil, and believed it brought nothing but calamity to the Community,and so  were ‘disturbed’ by the presence of the vulture, this ultimately lead to the arrest of both bird and owner.

According to him the police “were used to such types of complaints and had no option than to investigate to ascertain its credibility.”

“So, we want to ascertain what the vulture is meant for,” Mr Madaki Concluded.
