Robbers dressed in PPE stash away thousands of Rands from a supermarket in SA


Armed men dressed in Personal Protective Equipment, PPE has invaded a Super Market in South Africa on Wednesday.

The thieves disguised as health care workers made away with an undisclosed amount of money following their operations at the Checkers supermarket at the Scottsville Mall.

Local media reported that the thieves pretended to be Covid19 health inspectors and didn’t fire any gunshots and there were no reports of injuries.

They were seen entering the mall, wearing masks, face shields, gloves, and white lab jackets.

The funds carted away by the hoodlums were from the pension payout point at Checkers.

While the robbers were carrying out their assignment, pensioners were standing outside the mall, oblivious of what was going on inside.

More than 200,000 South African rands ($12,000) was reported to have been made off from the pension payout point by the robbers.

SA Police has launched an investigation on the matter.
