It was a surprise for most people at the Wuse, Zone 2 Magistrate Court Abuja on Tuesday as a native doctor clad in full regalia accompanied human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore in solidarity.
The witch doctor was seen waving his horsewhip and gourd in the air while chanting ahead of the commencement of trial.
Court workers, journalists, policemen, and other visitors who were on the court premises were stunned by the development, while others burst into laughter.
The activist and former presidential candidate was arrested by the police for leading a protest against bad governance on New Year Eve in Abuja
Sowore and others were arraigned on three charges of criminal conspiracy, unlawful assembly, and attempting to incite others.
In January 2021, the Magistrates’ Court sitting in Wuse Zone II, Abuja, had admitted Sowore and four others bail in the sum of N20 million each.
