Comments Off on US Presidential election: Fox News instructs anchors not to call Joe Biden President-elect in its presentations
America’s news network, Fox News has alleged to have instructed its anchors not to refer to the Democratic challenger in the US election Mr. Joe Biden as the “President-elect” when the network calls the race. Although in 2016, the network called Trump the “President-elect” the day after the election.
In the two memos obtained by CNN, it was gathered that the management of the network told its anchors to “stay away” from using the description, and instead say something such as Biden has “enough electoral votes to win the presidency”.
The memos emphasized that the network should report moves by Trump’s legal teams to challenge the results. One of the memos added;
“We will report both sides until there is further guidance.”
The instruction came after Trump and his aides called out Fox News for projecting Biden to win Arizona.
