Veteran Bollywood Actor Kushal Punjabi Commits Suicide, In His Bedroom In A Mumbai Apartment
Bollywood star Kushal Punjabi has committed suicide, he was aged 37.
The actor who was said to be suffering from depression killed himself in his bedroom in his Mumbai apartment last night after dedicating half of his estate to his three-year-old son, Kian.
He split the other half of his estate amongst other famly members.
Until his death, he was lauded as one of the top male Bollywood actors of his generation.
Punjabi described himself as a ‘Dancing daddy, Actor, Bikerboy, Travel/Adventure/Fitness junkie, Movie buff, addicted to black coffee & grey matter.’
His suicide note reads that no one is to be blamed for his death.
Prior to his death, he featured in several Bollywood films.
He started his career as a dancer and choreographer in 1995 and starred in a number of TV series and bit parts in Bollywood films.
He bagged a prominent role in Farhan Akhtar’s 2004 film, Lakshya, but found fame after winning India’s version of Total Wipeout and its 5,000 rupees prize in 2011.
He most recently starred in the 2017 thriller, Ishq Mein Marjawan.
He is survived by son Kian, wife Audrey Dolhen, his sisters and parents.
